INDICATION

Zindigi 20mg Tab is a zinc supplementation product indicated for the prevention and treatment of zinc deficiency states in adults and children. Its clinical indications include adjunctive therapy in acute and persistent diarrhea in children, as recommended by the WHO and UNICEF protocol, zinc deficiency-related growth retardation, immune deficiency, delayed wound healing, hypogeusia (impaired sense of taste), hyposmia (impaired sense of smell), skin conditions including acne, dermatitis, and psoriasis, and support in Wilson's disease management. Zinc may reduce the absorption of fluoroquinolone antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin) and tetracycline antibiotics when taken simultaneously; a minimum separation of 2 hours is recommended. Iron and calcium supplements may compete with zinc for intestinal absorption when taken at the same time. Zinc may reduce the efficacy of penicillamine in Wilson's disease patients; the timing of administration should be staggered. High-dose zinc interferes with copper metabolism and may lead to copper deficiency over time.
