INDICATION

Xenglu 25mg Tab is an oral SGLT-2 inhibitor indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise for the management of blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. MECHANISM OF ACTION

Xenglu 25mg contains empagliflozin, an SGLT-2 inhibitor that acts directly on the kidneys to lower blood sugar. Empagliflozin selectively blocks this transporter, preventing glucose reabsorption and causing excess sugar to be excreted through urine. SIDE EFFECTS

It is not suitable for patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR below 30 mL/min/1.73m²), end-stage renal disease, or those receiving dialysis. Patients with a known hypersensitivity to empagliflozin or any excipient in the formulation should not use this product. Use during pregnancy is not recommended due to risk to the developing fetus, and breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment. DRUG INTERACTIONS
