INDICATION

Semo 7mg Tab is the first therapeutic dose of oral semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. NOT RECOMMENDED IN

Semo 7mg Tab is not recommended in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 2. It is not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Patients with a history of pancreatitis should not use semaglutide. It should not be used in patients with severe gastroparesis or significant gastrointestinal disease. DRUG INTERACTIONS

Semaglutide delays gastric emptying, which can reduce the absorption rate of concurrently taken oral medications. Co-administration with insulin or sulfonylureas significantly increases the risk of hypoglycemia and may require dose reductions in those agents. DPP-IV inhibitors have overlapping mechanisms with GLP-1 agonists and are generally not co-prescribed.
