INDICATION

Osplex-D is indicated for the prevention and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency. It is used in osteoporosis, osteomalacia, osteopenia, hypocalcemia, bone pain, and increased bone fragility. It also supports increased mineral requirements during pregnancy, lactation, and menopause, and serves as an adjuvant in fractures with delayed healing.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Osplex-D combines two complementary components that work together to support bone health. The Ossein Mineral Complex delivers calcium, phosphorus, collagen, and essential bone proteins in physiological proportions, providing the body with the complete nutritional framework required for healthy bone formation and maintenance. Vitamin D3 enhances the intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphorus, ensuring these minerals are effectively utilized by the body. Together, they stimulate osteoblast activity to promote bone formation while inhibiting osteoclast activity to reduce bone resorption, resulting in improved bone density and reduced fracture risk.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Adults: 1 to 2 tablets daily, as directed by a physician.

•      Take before meals with a full glass of water or juice.

•      Swallow tablets whole — do not crush or chew.

SIDE EFFECTS

•      Generally well tolerated at recommended doses.

•      Mild gastrointestinal discomfort, belching, or constipation may occasionally occur.

•      Hypercalcemia (with excessive doses): nausea, vomiting, increased thirst, frequent urination, and fatigue.

NOT RECOMMENDED IN

Osplex-D may interact with thiazide diuretics (risk of hypercalcemia), digoxin (calcium may potentiate effects), corticosteroids (reduce calcium absorption), rifampicin (accelerates vitamin D breakdown), and orlistat (reduces vitamin D absorption). A gap should be maintained between this supplement and drugs that impair fat absorption.
