INDICATION

FDL RL 500ml is a sterile, balanced isotonic crystalloid solution for intravenous infusion. It is indicated for resuscitation and fluid replacement in conditions such as hypovolemia, dehydration from burns or surgical blood loss, fluid maintenance during and after operative procedures, and mild to moderate metabolic acidosis requiring buffering.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Lactate is metabolized by the liver to bicarbonate, providing mild buffering and avoiding hyperchloremic acidosis associated with large-volume normal saline infusion. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Incompatible with amphotericin B and some cephalosporins when directly admixed

•      Monitor potassium levels if used with potassium-altering medications
