INDICATION
Cubil 50mg Tab is indicated for adults with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). It improves heart-pumping efficiency, reduces fluid retention, and alleviates fatigue, swelling, and shortness of breath. The medication lowers hospitalization risk due to heart failure and slows disease progression. Cubil 50mg also enhances exercise tolerance and overall quality of life. It is especially useful for patients not adequately controlled on ACE inhibitors or standard therapy, providing comprehensive cardiovascular support.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Sacubitril inhibits neprilysin, increasing levels of natriuretic peptides which promote vasodilation, reduce blood pressure, and enhance diuresis. Valsartan blocks angiotensin II receptors, reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion. Together, they decrease cardiac stress and improve heart function.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
● Take one tablet orally twice daily.
● Can be taken with or without food.
● Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.
● Adjust dosage if switching from ACE inhibitors.
● Follow the physician's guidance strictly.
SIDE EFFECTS
● Common: dizziness, low blood pressure, hyperkalemia.
● Less common: renal impairment, cough, fatigue, headache.
NOT RECOMMENDED IN
● Pregnancy
● History of angioedema
● Severe hepatic impairment
● Hypersensitivity to sacubitril or valsartan
● Concurrent ACE inhibitor therapy
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Cubil 50mg may interact with potassium supplements, potassium-sparing diuretics, NSAIDs, ACE inhibitors, and other ARBs. These interactions may increase the risk of hyperkalemia, kidney injury, or hypotension. Patients should consult their physician before starting any new medication or supplement while on Cubil 50mg therapy.
