INDICATION

Rolip Eze 10mg+20mg Tab is a higher-strength fixed-dose combination for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia in adults. It is prescribed for patients who require greater LDL-cholesterol reduction than the lower-dose combination can provide, including high-risk cardiovascular patients with established atherosclerotic disease.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The 20mg rosuvastatin dose provides more potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibition than the 10mg dose, achieving greater hepatic cholesterol synthesis reduction and LDL receptor upregulation. Combined with ezetimibe's complementary intestinal cholesterol absorption blockade via NPC1L1 inhibition, this combination produces LDL-cholesterol reductions of approximately 65 to 75%. The dual mechanism addresses both endogenous cholesterol production and exogenous cholesterol absorption, making it particularly effective in patients who require intensive lipid-lowering therapy.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Adults: 1 tablet once daily at any time, with or without food

•      Monitor lipid profile and liver function at 4 to 12 weeks after initiation and dose changes

•      Swallow whole with water

SIDE EFFECTS

Common:

•      Headache
