INDICATION

Lezoxib 200mg Cap is a selective COX-2 inhibitor used in the management of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain, and primary dysmenorrhea. The 200mg strength is the standard adult dose for arthritis management and offers convenient once or twice-daily dosing with a gastrointestinal safety advantage over non-selective NSAIDs.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Osteoarthritis: 200mg once daily

•      Rheumatoid arthritis: 100 to 200mg twice daily

•      Acute pain/dysmenorrhea: 400mg as initial dose, then 200mg twice daily

•      Always use the minimum effective dose; follow your doctor's dosing instructions closely

SIDE EFFECTS

Common:

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Fluconazole significantly increases celecoxib plasma levels through CYP2C9 inhibition; halve the celecoxib dose. Warfarin: monitor INR closely as celecoxib may increase anticoagulant effect. ACE inhibitors and diuretics may lose efficacy. Aspirin at analgesic doses combined with celecoxib negates the GI safety advantage and increases ulcer risk.
