INDICATION
Inventive Syrup 120ML is a non-narcotic antitussive indicated for the symptomatic relief of persistent, non-productive (dry) cough associated with upper respiratory tract infections, common cold, flu, bronchitis, and allergic conditions where cough suppression is clinically appropriate.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Dimemorfan phosphate is a sigma-1 receptor agonist with centrally acting antitussive activity. Unlike codeine or dextromethorphan, dimemorfan does not act on opioid receptors or NMDA receptors, giving it a favorable safety profile with no known abuse potential, sedation, or respiratory depression. It suppresses the cough reflex by modulating sigma-1 receptor-mediated signaling in the brainstem cough center.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
● Adults: 10 to 20ml three times daily
● Children 6 to 12 years: 5 to 10ml three times daily
● Children 2 to 6 years: as directed by a physician
● Shake well before use
● May be taken with or without food
● Continue for the prescribed duration; consult a physician if cough persists beyond 7 days
SIDE EFFECTS
Common:
● Mild nausea or stomach discomfort
● Mild dizziness
Less common:
● Allergic reactions including skin rash in rare cases
● Headache in sensitive individuals
