INDICATION:
Emsyn 10mg tablet is prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control. It is suitable as monotherapy for patients who cannot tolerate Metformin or as part of combination therapy with other antidiabetic drugs. MECHANISM OF ACTION:

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
● Take once daily, at the same time each day
● Can be taken with or without food
● Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew
● Maintain adequate hydration
SIDE EFFECTS:
● Common: Increased urination, thirst, urinary tract infections
● Less common: Hypotension, dizziness, genital fungal infections, rare ketoacidosis
NOT RECOMMENDED IN:
Type 1 diabetes, severe renal impairment, hypersensitivity
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
May increase hypoglycemia risk with insulin or sulfonylureas. Concomitant use with diuretics may increase dehydration risk. Caution with nephrotoxic drugs.
