INDICATION
Cyrocin 500mg Tab is prescribed for mild to moderate bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, and skin infections. It inhibits bacterial growth, alleviating fever, pain, and inflammation. Completing the full course prevents resistance and ensures effective infection control.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Ciprofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, disrupting DNA replication and bacterial cell division.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
● Take one tablet every 12 hours.
● Swallow with water, with or without food.
● Avoid dairy or calcium products near dosing.
● Complete the full course as prescribed.
SIDE EFFECTS
● Common: nausea, diarrhea, headache
● Less common: dizziness, rash, tendon pain
NOT RECOMMENDED IN
● Known hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin
● Children (risk of cartilage issues)
● Pregnant or breastfeeding women
● Severe renal impairment without dose adjustment
● History of tendon disorders
