INDICATION

Tercica 300mg Tab is an NSAID prescribed for the relief of mild to moderate pain and inflammation in adults. It is indicated for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other musculoskeletal and joint conditions causing pain, swelling, and stiffness. It is also effective for menstrual pain (primary dysmenorrhea), dental pain, postoperative pain, headache, and acute soft tissue injuries.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Dexibuprofen inhibits the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are chemical messengers that cause pain, fever, and inflammation at sites of injury or tissue damage. By blocking these enzymes, dexibuprofen reduces prostaglandin synthesis, leading to decreased pain signals, reduced tissue swelling, and a lower temperature in cases of fever. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Lithium plasma levels may rise with concurrent NSAID use; close monitoring is required. Methotrexate toxicity increases when NSAIDs are co-administered.
